Concrete Poem

Softball, a passion,
A way of life,
feeling the rough dirty ball
on your hands, hearing
the crack of the softball bat
the ball flying through the air.
single, double, triple, home run
around the bases
stepping on to home plate
loud cheers,crazy fans
watching the score
keeping time
third out
times up
we won

Persona Poem

I sit there
Waiting to be used
I hate being in the cold
I can't wait all winter in a bag
I belong on a softball field
Hitting a ball, bunting
Being held, and flying fast through the air

List Poem

Blue and white
Eagle pride
Hear the fans
In the stands
Pens and books
Computers and planners
Down the hall
three minutes to go
Don't be late
You'll be tardy
So many sports
Can't just pick one
Cross Country
Wrestling and
Blue and white
Eagle Pride Hear the Fans
In the stands

Nebraska Outdoors Poem

I see blue and white skies
A sea of grass, and the open plains
I feel the cool wind
Hear the rustle of grass
There are cows all around me
The golden corn
As I sit there, watching
Time slips away
The shades of pink, purple, orange, and blue
Appear in the sky
As I watch, the stars come out
I see the dark plains
And the glittering sky.

Found Poem

Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick
Decide to start over
Don't lose faith, follow your heart
Time is limited, no one wants to die
Connect the dots
You have to trust in something
Right now the new is
You should see the value in it
Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish
And connect the dots.

Extended Metaphor Poem

Hate is a war

A fight on the battlefield
Making someone hurt
It's not right
But sometimes you have to go to battle
Don't hate
Don't make people feel like they want to blow up
Sometimes you can't escape.

5 Senses Poem

Summer is a time of Happiness
Birds are chirping new melodies
And the smell of fresh grass is in the air
The green buds of plants stretching up to the sun
Baby blue skies and clear crystal water
Cold swimming pools and sweet ice-cream on you tongue
Summer is a joyful time
